Angela Vachon is a 21 year old senior at the University of Florida, majoring in Telecommunications-News and graduates in May of 2005. She was born and raised in Ocala, Florida and holds a very conservative attitude towards politics.
Angela has been involved in the field of journalism and communications since 1996.
In high school, she:
- Reported/Anchored for WVHS, Vanguard High School’s television station
- Served as Sports Director of WVHS in 2000-2001
- Worked on the Top-10 Universal Video Team 2001
- Worked on the Yearbook and in Journalism for 3 years
- Served as Copy Editor and Ambassador for Journalism 2001
In college, she began to really experience the field of telecommunications.
- She began working in radio in 2002
- Worked at WUFT-FM, Classic 89, in 2002
- Joined the WRUF-AM 850 staff as a general assignment reporter in 2002
- Served as Producer and Anchor of the weekly “Eye on Entertainment” at AM-850 from 2003-2004
She has moved back into television for the time being. Right now, she is working as a general assignment reporter for a PBS station, WUFT-TV, News 5 in Gainesville, Florida.
Angela is currently taking a class in Interactive Media, where she has created an editorial blog about the entertainment industry and how it aligns with the election process, and politics in general. She also has written a story on the election process at the University of Florida.
Outside of her schooling, Angela interned in Nashville at the Country Music Hall of Fame during the summer of 2004, in the public programming department. After graduation, she plans to go to Nashville to pursue a career in country music. Born and raised in Ocala, Florida, she holds a conservative attitude towards politics.
