Joe Black is a junior at the University of Florida, pursuing a degree in journalism with an outside concentration in political science.

Joe has worked for The Independent Florida Alligator since 2000 and is now its editor. He has reported on events in the Gainesville community ranging from Student Government to changes within the UF administration.

In addition to his work for the Alligator, Joe has held internships at The Florida Times-Union Tallahassee Bureau, the Stuart/Port St. Lucie News, the Kalamazoo Gazette and the Muskegon Chronicle. This spring he will intern with the Washington Center for Politics and Journalism and this summer with the St. Petersburg Times.

He is hoping to graduate at the end of Fall 2004.
