Each week there are approximately two assignments, if not more, due.

Most exercises are due via e-mail at 3 p.m. before class starts -- but this is not always the case. Always check the requirements & due section below for every assignment. Work handed in late is not accepted.

Week 11 > Nov 4

Exercise
Expert Blogger Interview
Description
Post containing interview from the field expert blogger must be uploaded to your blog before class on Nov 4.
Requirements
By Week 11, you must post a portion of your interview with a expert on your blog. You may conduct & post this interview anytime between now & the date it is due.

Interview post must include:

  • Name & title of person interviewed
  • Reason for interview (what makes that person an expert, what was the topic of the interview, etc.)
  • Link to interviewee’s blog or other relevant site (whichever is preferred by the interviewee)
  • Note of date & mode that the interview occurred (October 1 via e-mail)
  • Logical presentation of interview, distinguishing between questions & answers
When the expert interview is complete & the post is live on your blog, notify Professor Trammell via e-mail [ ktrammell@jou.ufl.edu ]. Make the subject line of your e-mail “Expert Interview” & include the post URL, expert name, interview notes (attached) & your name.

NOTE: The expert interview, if desired, can count as 1 of your weekly blog posts. If desired, make that explicitly known in both the “Exert Interview” & “Weekly Blog Post” e-mail notifications.

Purpose
This assignment allows you to not only interact with an expert in your field, but empowers you to use your blog as a reporting tool in a more traditional sense (by using interviews, sources, quotes, etc.).
Context
More than likely, the expert you interviewed will link to your post after it is live – so be sure to e-mail the link back to the expert. If the exert links back to you, then you are certain to see a rise in traffic to your site. This is an excellent bonus!
